Year 8 Rugby – March 8th

The Year 8 Rugby Team once again displayed great attacking structures and mean defensive hits on their way to winning the Orleans Park 7s.

This was a tournament where we were runners ups last year.

The first game saw us up against Greycourt. After a going try for try and with the scores tied at 12-12 Seni was able to make a great break and offload to Harry to score making it 19-12 at the final whistle.

The following games in the pool were rather more easy where FBS ran out winners 32-0 and 40-0 with Spencer, Omari and Eoin with the stand out tries.

These results meant that we qualified for the Cup side of the draw. We were placed up against Gunnersbury, the team that we have had many a hard fought game with over the past two years. After a fine defensive display, especially from Oliver and Shaeden we triumphed 21-7.

The final was to be played, once again due to them winning their semi final, against Greycourt. The battles of the afternoon clearly had taken it out of both sides. Defensive slips meant that both sides conceded sloppy tries. However the turning point came from a Fulham knock on and a scrum was awarded. Spencer, Oliver and Shaeden drove over the ball to win it against the head and Seni picked up to snipe his way over for the winning try.

Congratulations boys!!
