We are delighted to announce that Alun Ebenezer has been appointed as Head Designate of The Fulham Boys School. He will take up his position next spring and in the meantime will be working closely with the FBS team in planning the curriculum, designing the school’s education policies and recruiting the inspirational teaching staff to help make FBS’ vision of ‘bringing out the best in boys’ a reality.
Alun joins FBS from St Teilo’s Church in Wales School, a large secondary school in Cardiff where he is Deputy Head. Previously, Mr Ebenezer was assistant head at Treorchy – the first school in Wales to achieve excellence in all 15 areas of its school inspection.
Andy Yarrow, head of the Chelsea Academy, will be mentoring Alun, drawing on his experience in taking a new Church of England school from scratch in 2009 to ‘Outstanding’ in its first OFSTED.
We are arranging an event in February for Alun to meet all boys who have applied to FBS for 2013, and their parents/carers.
Meanwhile, applications for September 2013 remain open.
We have become aware that some parents have registered details but have not completed the FBS application form. If you think you have applied for a place for September 2013 but have not had an email confirming receipt of your application and details of our assessment day, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to check you are on the list. Applications will be closing at the end of January 2013, so please urge anyone who hasn’t yet applied to do so now.
