Rugby : Year 10 vs Latymer Upper

After a heavy loss last year at the Latymer Upper playing fields, we knew we would have to be at our very best to come away with anything this time around. However, the Y10 A team didn’t disappoint and started strongly, scoring a try in the opening minutes through the forwards. From then on, everyone continued to put the Latymer defensive line under pressure, taking very little time to find space yet again on the wing, Kai Lau finishing excellently from the halfway line. Accurate kicking from captain Ned Watson, made sure FBS stayed comfortably in front.

Throughout the game the FBS forwards were brilliant, constantly finding space around the breakdown and punching holes through the line, leading to more opportunities and more tries. By half time the winning side was no longer in doubt, but we did not let this make us complacent, hitting the ground running in the second half, aided by some fresh substitutions. The game was representative of how far this team has come since winning the Middlesex Plate last season, and our desire to continue improving. The second half brought yet more tries and showed well drilled back moves as well as lifting in the lineouts helped by outstanding deliveries, a newly introduced skill this season. The final score was a convincing 60-10 victory for FBS and tries were scored by; Oliver, Giorgi, Harry L (2), Matty (in only his second game for FBS), Kai, Josh, Eoin, Harry A and Felix. It was not only a convincing victory for FBS, but also helped the team to become closer and better drilled for the next game against Gunnersbury school.
