Science Week
For National Science Week The Fulham Boys School decided to give all boys the opportunity to develop enterprise skills through an ‘Faraday Engineering Project’. Students had to buy materials, design and then develop a product which would serve a table tennis ball. As part of the project they had to produce a video and a learning log to record the product development.
Boys loved the opportunity to take part in ‘hands on’, practical engineering activities which also developed many enterprise skills.
Alongside the ‘Faraday Engineering Project’, the top science sets took part in ‘I’m an Engineer – get me out of here’ where school students get to take meet and interact with engineers online. Through a fast paced, text based live chat, boys could ask engineers anything they wanted and vote for their favourite engineer who would win £500 to communicate their work with the public.
